Social media planning tools: how to choose yours
Social media management tools do not all do the same job. Knowing which job eats up the most of your time — deciding what to post, creating the piece, publishing it or measuring it — helps you choose well and avoid paying for what you will not use.

In short: choose the tool that solves what takes up the most of your time. Today RedesIA handles three jobs — what to post, creating the piece with your brand, and reminding you when to post. Automatic publishing is coming very soon, and results tracking is not available yet.
The five jobs of a planning tool
| Job | What it involves | With RedesIA, today |
|---|---|---|
| Deciding what to post | Suggesting ideas for your type of business and organizing them on a calendar, instead of starting every week with a blank page. | Yes. The AI suggests the month’s ideas and lays them out on your calendar. |
| Creating the piece | Caption, hashtags and an image with your logo, your palette and your style, cropped to each network’s size. | Yes. Posts, carousels and stories come out as finished images; for reels, a scene-by-scene script and the opening image. |
| Staying organized and reminded | Seeing the whole month, marking what has been published and alerting you on the day it is due. | Yes. A calendar, notification and email reminders, and Google Calendar sync. |
| Publishing automatically | Having the post go out on its own, at the time you chose, on your networks. | Coming very soon. For now we leave each piece ready and you upload it. |
| Measuring results | Seeing the reach and performance of each post. | Not yet. It is a feature we plan to add. |
Six questions to ask when choosing
- Does it help you decide what to post? Most tools assume you already know what to upload. If your problem is the blank page, look for one that suggests ideas and organizes them on a calendar.
- Does it create the piece with your brand? A caption, hashtags and an image with your logo, your palette and your style save you the slowest step. Check that the tool remembers your brand rather than depending on you to explain it with every request.
- Does it publish for you or only remind you? Decide which matters more to you: content that goes out on its own at an exact time, or reviewing it and uploading it yourself. With RedesIA you upload it yourself today, and automatic publishing is coming very soon.
- Is it in your language and your currency? An interface in your language, content in your audience’s language and prices you can pay without currency-conversion surprises matter more than they seem to.
- Is there a free tier, and how many brands does it include? Check what stays free, what limits it has and how many brands or accounts you can manage on each plan before you commit.
- Do you need to measure results from the tool itself? If reach and growth analytics are essential for you, ask about them before you decide.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best tool for managing a small business’s social media calendar?
It depends on what takes up the most of your time. If the hard part is knowing what to post and creating the pieces with your brand, an AI planning tool like RedesIA saves you that work: it builds the month’s calendar with the idea, caption, hashtags and image for each post, and reminds you on the day to publish.
Does RedesIA publish automatically to my networks?
Not yet, but it is coming very soon. Today RedesIA leaves each piece ready and reminds you when to post; you upload it yourself from each network’s app. Results tracking is another feature we plan to add.
What if I need a feature RedesIA does not have?
Write to us from the contact page and tell us what you need: we will consider building it. Automatic publishing is coming very soon, and results tracking is another feature we plan to add.
Are there free tools for planning social media?
Yes. Many tools offer a free tier with limits. RedesIA’s calendar is free, with no limit on posts and no expiration date; what you pay for are the credits to generate with AI.
Can a general-purpose AI (like ChatGPT) replace a planning tool?
It works for writing a one-off caption, but it does not store your brand, build a calendar, crop the images for each network or remind you when to post.
